COLLECTIONS MANAGEMENT POLICY
The MNA strives to be a leader in the management, security, and access to our collections. We are guided by our MNA Collections Management Policy (293 kB PDF), which is available for review.
REFERENCE AND RESEARCH REQUESTS
For research assistance, please provide us with at least 30-days notice prior to your proposed visit. This allows time for us to ensure that the collections and/or documents requested are available and not subject to any restriction(s). Please fill out the fillable PDF then email or mail the form to the appropriate Collections Manager.
Application to Use MNA Materials and Permission to Use is available as a fillable PDF. When requesting permission, please provide the image identification number if known or the citation for the publication showing the image you wish to use. Permission requests generally require anywhere from 30 to 60 days to fulfill depending on the amount of identifying information provided by the researcher.
For all requests, please provide as much detail as you can about the information you are searching for and the intent of the research. This will help us better locate the information and provide you with the best service. Provide your name, phone number, email address, mailing address, in case we have questions.

For inquiries about loans to institutions contact the Collections Director.
For inquiries about Collections and research contact the Anthropology Collections Manager.
For inquiries about Science Collections contact the Natural Science Collections Manager.
For inquires about Archival holdings, Photographs, and research contact the Archivist.
For inquires about botany holding or the McDougall Herbarium, contact the Botany Collections Manager. A provision Strategic Plan for the McDougall Herbarium was developed during a iDigBio workshop in 2018.
