Melissa Lawton, Archivist
Melissa has worked in museum archives and libraries for over ten years and joined MNA as Archivist in 2018 after completing an internship in 2012-2013. Her interest in human history began at an early age and after deciding archaeologist wasn’t her dream job after all, she turned to archives and libraries as a career to serve as a steward of the documentary record. She has a BA in Anthropology and History from the University of South Dakota and MS in Library and Information Science with a concentration in Archival Studies from Drexel University. Prior to joining MNA as staff she worked Sharlot Hall Museum and History Colorado, and has experience in university and public libraries.
