Saturday, May 14 • 10 am – 5 pm
Calling all kids! Join us for a fun-filled Saturday as we celebrate children from across the Colorado Plateau and beyond at this multi-cultural event. Experience the artistry of the Hopi Warriors dance group, the Yellow Bird Indian Dancers, and the rhythms of Hopi-Tewa singer/songwriter and MNA artist-in-residence Ed Kabotie, while enjoying storytelling, face-painting, games, and crafts. Two new exhibitions will be on view. When We Were Young: The Legacy of MNA’s Junior Indian Art Show features past and more recent work by noted Native American artists. A photo exhibit of Zuni, Hopi, Navajo, and Latino Heritage Festival Program youth performers will hang in the Katherin L. Chase Gallery. End the day by helping us celebrate Discovery Camps’ birthday with cake, ice cream, and 40 years of memories.
