12th Annual Gala Weekend

Tslelani/Terrain: Tapestries of D.Y. Begay, an exhibition of Navajo textiles premiers at the 12th Annual MNA Gala & Fine Art Auction. This internationally recognized artist draws inspiration for her contemporary textiles from the landscape surrounding her home on the Navajo Reservation, Tselani (Salina Springs). A place of distinctive beauty, Tselani (meaning “many rocks” in the Diné language), is a place laden with cultural and social memories that have shaped Begay’s development as an artist and informed the aesthetics of her work. The main Gala event features a cocktails and hors d’oeuvres accompanying a silent auction and preview of the exhibition, followed by a dinner and live auction under a festive tent on the edge of Rio de Flag.
