2017 Camps for Ages 11-13

Arizona Adventure
Get ready for outdoor fun! Join us for bicycling, hiking, swimming, and exploring our local mountains, trails, and lakes. Bring your bike and a sense of adventure. Included is a barbeque lunch at Lake Mary on Wednesday.

Bryce and Zion Exploration (overnight camping)
Hike, splash, swim, and explore Bryce and Zion National Parks, magical and surreal destinations for the adventurer in all of us.  Learn about the geology behind these crown jewels of our nation's park system. On the MNA campus Monday (9-4), in the field Tuesday through Friday.

Eruption, Erosion and Impact
Through daily field trips, including Meteor Crater and the Grand Canyon, we will explore the volcanic, hydrological, and astronomical forces that shaped the landscape of northern Arizona.

Hike and Bike (overnight camping)
Bring your bike, helmet, and hiking boots for an adventure around the San Francisco Peaks!  We will mountain bike (with van support) to our campsites near Bismark Lake and the lava tubes where we will explore more on foot. On MNA campus Monday and Tuesday (9-4), in the field Wednesday through Friday.

San Juan River Exploration (overnight camping)
Raft the mighty San Juan from Bluff to Mexican Hat, Utah.  Explore the archaeology, geology, flora, and fauna of southern Utah, and experience the sights and sounds of Canyon Country on this special adventure.  On the MNA campus Monday (9-4), in the field Tuesday through Friday.

Creative Clay & Mosaics
Enjoy learning both traditional clay forming techniques as well as the ancient art of Mosaic in one week.  Create embossed tiles, pots, and dishes using prehistoric pottery forms and designs that will be fired, glazed, and ready to take home on Friday.  Mosaic art creations will incorporate everyday items into this unique art form to create a stepping stone, mirror, picture frame, and more.
