Details & Itinerary: Spend the day with MNA Artist in Residence, Ed Kabotie exploring the Grand Canyon murals painted by his grandfather, Fred Kabotie (1900-1986). World renowned Hopi artist, author, and educator, Fred Kabotie’s works at the Grand Canyon include the Watchtower (painted in 1932) and the Bright Angel Lodge (painted in 1958). Grandson, Ed Kabotie has recently been working on the restoration of the murals at the historic Watchtower commissioned by Mary Jane Colter. Throughout the day’s excursion, Ed will share insights on the murals as well as personal memories of his grandfather.

Cost Includes: Transportation, guide, and NPS entrance fee. Lunch will be a personal expense at Grand Canyon Village.


Cancellations must be received in writing by mail, fax, or email. If notice of cancellation is received before 30 days prior to departure, trip fees will be refunded less a $200.00 administrative fee. For one day trips, the administrative fee is $50.00. If cancellation notice is received after 30 days prior to departure, no refunds will be issued. If the Museum cancels a trip due to inclement weather or insufficient enrollment, a full refund including the deposit will be issued. MNA is not responsible for airline cancellation penalties in the event of cancellation for any reason. This policy is followed per person without exception. We highly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance.
