Tour of Museum of Northern Arizona

A tour of the Museum of Northern Arizona (MNA) is an ideal introduction to the arts, cultures, and sciences of the Colorado Plateau. Group rates and docent-led tours are available for groups of all ages. Please fill out the Tour request form and email to tours@musnaz.org or call 928-774-5211, x217 to arrange for any of the following tours. Custom tours are also available.

Exhibit Tours

Trained docents lead the way through the Museum, telling stories and providing insights. These tours can range from a quick overview of the entire museum to deeper explorations of areas of interest to your group, whether that’s learning about the many Indigenous cultures of the Colorado Plateau, the fascinating geologic formations, the evidence of dinosaurs and other ancient creatures that roamed here, or the pottery, jewelry, textiles, and other arts. Exhibit tours are available when the museum is open.

 

BuildingsBehind-the-Scenes Tours

Did you know that MNA’s collections were identified as a National Treasure in 2007? Come behind the scenes to see why these holdings have national significance and hear how these “stored” objects and specimens are used and protected. FlowersGarden Tours

Available from June through August, these outdoor tours introduce visitors to the plant life of the region and the many ways people grow and use plants. Several tours are available depending on your interests. Visit an ethnobotanical garden where more than 100 species of Native plants grow, walk through a verdant canyon with a native plant expert, or get some hands-on instruction on gardening techniques. Plants vary through the season.

Take your students to one of the most interesting and educational museums in Flagstaff! MNA offers engaging school group tours, workshops and puppet shows for classes and student groups of all ages. VistaVentures Trips

Explore the Colorado Plateau on a guided trips led by an expert. Trips range from day trips to Grand Falls or Red Mountain to multi-day rafting trips. Registration required.
