
Richard Bowen
Richard leads health care, research, commercial, and university real estate development and construction projects as Senior Vice President at Genterra Enterprises. In this role, he provides strategic leadership and direction to teams responsible for development, design, construction, real estate management, and capital markets. He also oversees business development and relationship-building efforts. Prior to joining Genterra, he dedicated 21 years to Northern Arizona University (NAU), holding key leadership positions, including Special Assistant to the President. His responsibilities spanned administration and finance, technology transfer, campus planning and development, facilities management, construction, economic development, public/private partnerships, sustainability, and research collaborations. He was pivotal in creating and developing the Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC), serving on the executive committee and later as its director. A trailblazer in fostering innovation ecosystems, Richard co-founded and helped develop several of Arizona’s premier biomedical and technology incubators and accelerators, including the Chandler Innovation Center, Phoenix Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation, Maricopa Center for Entrepreneurship, Northern Arizona Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (NACET). Richard also served as the founding President and CEO of the Economic Collaborative of Northern Arizona (ECoNA), a public/private regional economic development organization. He actively serves as Chair of the Northern Arizona Leadership Alliance and the NACOG Economic Development Council, and serves on several other nonprofit and advisory boards in Flagstaff and Phoenix, reflecting his dedication to advancing service and community initiatives.
