Susan Schroeder
Susan Schroeder recently retired as the CEO from Grand Canyon Conservancy, the nonprofit partner of Grand Canyon National Park. Her knowledge and experience in organizational development, fundraising, strategic planning, and nonprofit governance led to significant organizational growth during her tenure. Prior to this position, she spent 18 years at Northern Arizona University (NAU) where she held leadership positions in the Center for Sustainable Environments, University Advancement and the NAU Foundation. Previously, she was managing partner in a consulting firm that specialized in tourism and outdoor recreation consumer research. Early in her career, she worked with an interpretive planning and design firm that focused on creating meaningful visitor experiences at diverse visitor centers and natural areas. Susan currently serves on the board of Eastern National, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the public’s understanding and support of America’s national parks. Her recent board positions include Northern Arizona Leadership Alliance and the Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff. Susan and her husband live in Flagstaff and enjoy exploring, especially the natural and cultural wonders of the southwest.
