Slow Art Day
April 5

Join us for Slow Art Day, a global event celebrating the beauty of taking your time with art. Instead of rushing by, slow down, sit, and truly observe. Let your eyes linger and your mind wander, allowing for a deeper and more meaningful connection with the artwork.
When you arrive at the Museum, pick up a Slow Art Day guide and explore the galleries at your own pace.
Two special timed programs will take place during the day, giving you the chance to further immerse yourself in the power of Slow Art Day.
2 p.m.: MNA Fine Arts Curator Alan Petersen leads a discussion about slow art.
3 p.m.: Writers Linda Alvarado and Kristan Hutchison co-lead an ekphrastic poetry workshop using slow art as inspiration. Ekphrastic poetry is form of poetry that responds to or describes a work of art.
