Join us this Saturday afternoon, 2-3:30 pm after this year’s Colton Garden Harvest Festival for an inspiring afternoon of short films, produced by Shonri Begay, that explore the deep connections between food, land, and community resilience across the Colorado Plateau. Featured in the ArcGIS StoryMap Stories of Resilience and Diversity, these films highlight the voices of growers, land stewards, educators and Indigenous leaders working to restore food sovereignty, revitalize traditional knowledge, and build sustainable futures rooted in place.

Following the screening, we’ll host a panel discussion with several of the storytellers featured in the films:

Shonri Begay – Diné and Tohono O’odham artist and educator whose work uplifts healing and cultural memory.

Lilian Hill – Co-founder of the Hopi Tutskwa Permaculture Institute, advancing Indigenous food systems and ecological design.

John Taylor – Community leader and advocate for intergenerational knowledge sharing.

Oakley Anderson-Moore — Filmmaker and co-founder of Superyard Farms focused on youth engagement with food and land.

Meg Kabotie Adakai – Artist and educator focused on holistic wellness and cultural resilience.
