Samantha Biter

Growing up in Sedona and living in Flagstaff since 2010, Sammie Biter is a lover of the outdoor landscapes that have shaped her. For most of her adult life, she has worked with children. She loves being inspired by their openness and wonder. She has worked in children’s education, community organizing, and non-profit work; now she dedicates most of her time to her artistic work as a sculptor.

Her favorite medium is clay, and she loves incorporating found objects into her pieces, especially ones found in nature. She thinks a lot about how symbols and emotions can tell accessible stories. When she isn’t sculpting she hikes, reads, enjoys time with friends, or travels with her husband Ryan, a professional touring musician.
