Derik Spice
Derik Spice earned a Master of Science Degree in Applied Geospatial Sciences from Northern Arizona University in 2017, and has facilitated numerous outdoor programs in the Southwest, as well as teaching Physical Geography and working as a Field Educator at Northern Arizona University. A professional river guide since 1994, and ski patroller since 1997, Derik is well versed in Emergency Medicine, as well as teaching Wilderness First Responder courses for SOLO. Passionate about the natural landscapes and ecosystems of the Southwest, Derik has led Grand Canyon river trips for the Sierra Club, National Geographic, Grand Canyon Semester and Grand Canyon Trust.
