Since October 2017, Mark has led Northern Arizona University (NAU) as the Chief Audit Executive and Enterprise Risk Management Facilitator, bringing over 30 years of extensive experience in internal auditing, primarily in academic medical centers. He distinguished himself in chief audit roles at the Cedars-Sinai Health System in Los Angeles and the Johns Hopkins Health System in Baltimore. A respected voice in the field, Mark has been a national speaker since 2000 and has contributed insights on audit, compliance, and risk topics in publications like College & University Auditor, Compliance Today, and New Perspectives. He has also shared his expertise as a lecturer on Information Systems Auditing and Internal Audit at the University of California, Los Angeles, and Riverside.

Mark’s academic foundation in accounting was laid at Towson University, a peer institution of NAU. His professional acumen is further backed by credentials as a CPA, CIA, and CISA, alongside his previous certifications in healthcare finance (CHFP), healthcare compliance (CHC), and agile project management (CSM), which have enriched his diverse skill set.
