Family Game Day with Navajo Highways, Hopi R2D2, and Indigenous Games for All Ages
MNA Members are Free! Non-members pay regular admission with no additional charge for performances and activities. Kids 9 and younger are Free!
Bring the entire family to MNA for this fun-filled day! Indigenous games for all ages, plus a demonstration by Gregory Hill (Hopi/Quechan) of artistic play with his hand-carved spinning tops, and a meet-and-greet with artist Duane Koyawena (Hopi) and Hopi R2D2 will be part of the fun from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
1:00 – 2:30: A special performance of Navajo Highways, a live puppet show that celebrates the Diné (Navajo) culture and language. (Not just for kids!)
3:00 – 4:30: A conversation and book signing with Barbara Poley (Laguna/Hopi) and Nora Naranjo-Morse (Kha’p’o Owenge) as they present their wisdom from the recently released book, Worlds within Us: Wisdom and Resilience of Indigenous Women and Elders.
