The Museum of Northern Arizona is surrounded by beautiful nature trails. Walk along the rim or wander in the peaceful canyon bottom of the Rio de Flag right outside of our doorstep. Access the Flagstaff Urban Trail System from the west end of the Museum parking area and stroll in the cool shade of the Ponderosa Pine forest.
The Museum's Nature Trail travels along a shallow canyon carved by the Rio de Flag through the lava flow that covered much of the Flagstaff area 6 million years ago. Open from dawn to dusk, the trail is a half a mile in length. Maps can be picked up at the front desk.
The Arizona Watchable Wildlife Experience has created a narrated trail guide for the Museum's section of the Rio de Flag.
